Cheryl Monzon is the Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer Program Manager for Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center (EXWC). Cheryl grew up in Texas and traveled the world with her Navy husband. She has over 30 years of experience in both the private and public sector. She received an MBA from California Lutheran University, and has certifications in Defense Finance (CDFM-A), Lean Six Sigma (LSS Black Belt) and Business Process Reengineering Professional. Her work experience spans finance, acquisition, data and strategic analysis, and continuous performance improvement and process reengineering, technology transfer and intellectual property, and Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education program management.
Cheryl has held several committee and board positions at the local, regional, and national FEW, and currently is the FEW Western Region Manager. She is EXWC’s Special Emphasis Program Coordinator for Asian-American Pacific Islanders, and has received numerous FEW awards including the Joyce W. Stewart for Diversity, the Ann Vanderslice Unsung Shero , and Western Region Outstanding Member. Under her leadership as Southern California Gold Coast Chapter President, her chapter received several 2018 National Awards: (1) Third Place in Best Fundraiser (2) Second Place in Best Special Emphasis Program and 2018 Region Award for Best Chapter; 2017 National Awards: (1) Second Place for Membership (2) Second Place for Best Programs; and 2017 Region Awards for Best Chapter. Cheryl has received several awards for programs she established for student engagement in STEM, and for new programs expanding Technology Transfer.
