 Chapter Activities

The Motor City Chapter of FEW has members from the IRS, VA and US Courts.  Our chapter is a diverse group of federal employees that promotes the mission of FEW in the local community.  Every month we host events that support FEW’s four focus area’s and outreach programs that support the local and surrounding community.

Chapter events that have taken place are as follows:

Ronald McDonald House Each October we recognize the fight many Americans with Breast Cancer. On October

Breast Cancer Awareness Program: For over 90 years, thousands of  devoted volunteers have creatively dressed tens of thousands of dolls for deserving young ladies. Each Detroit Goodfellow box is stuffed with an array of books, warm clothing, dental kits, toys and candy, but since 1924, the carefully and imaginatively dressed dolls given to little girls aged 5–9 have brought the boxes real razzle-dazzle.

Backyard BBQ:    Join our chapter as we prepare a meal for the families staying at the Ronald McDonald House of Detroit. Many times the families do not have the time or energy to prepare a good meal, as they spend most of their time at the hospital with their child.
