“Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality.” ~ Warren Bennis

For the past 45 years Federally Employed Women (FEW) has annually focused on providing premier training opportunities and advantages to federal employees. This year is no different. As we approach the celebration of hosting our 45th Anniversary of our National Training Program, I am so pleased to invite you to our first Leadership Summit in our nation’s capital, Washington DC. It is important that FEW continue to do this work and offer exceptional training to the leaders and future leaders of our federal agencies. Join us at the lovely Washington Court Hotel for this two day conference on utilizing leadership principles and networking July 10 – 12, 2014.

This year is simply unique because of the addition of our Advocacy Day event being incorporated in our Leadership Summit. Advocacy Day participants are provided an opportunity to share their experiences, gain insight and connect with policy makers directly. The true sign of a leader is the ability to convey your message and its importance to impact an audience. Our Advocacy Day event is a prime opportunity to practice this skill. You will meet with members of Congress and lobby on behalf of women and federal workers. Throughout the Summit you will learn about FEW’s legislative agenda and will be provided effective talking points and techniques that can be used for Advocacy Day and career building.

One of the most important aspects of the Summit is the investment into advancing your careers in the federal government. We promote taking charge and becoming the master of your career destiny. The Leadership Summit helps you plan for the future by engaging in training and networking. Investing in your career is your job as those skills you learn today don’t stay with your employer, rather they follow you wherever you go or grow. EMPOWER yourself and build your career. The goal of advancing your career in the federal government is all yours.

Our Leadership Summit team stands ready to work with each of you on the challenges and opportunities we face as federal workers and defining your vision for your career. Again, I invite you to register to attend the 2014 Leadership Summit in Washington DC. This Summit will inspire and energize you, preparing you to lead your colleagues while communicating your vision and contributions to others.

Join us in our nation’s Capital in July and I look forward to seeing you.
