“As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words but to live by them.” – John F. Kennedy
Fall is in the air and we remind ourselves it is the season to be grateful. Thanksgiving is an annual holiday that gives us the chance to show gratitude for the people in our lives and the blessings we enjoy. As John F. Kennedy’s quote points out, gratitude is a gift we can give ourselves and others every day.
I am blessed to serve as FEW’s National President. I feel honored to be in a position where I can direct, shape, and develop our organization’s growth and impact. When you are given the responsibility to lead, you are given a fantastic opportunity to positively influence the lives of many people. Leadership is a responsibility I would never take for granted.
While we may not see everything you do as a member of FEW, we see the positive results of your efforts. When you tell a colleague about FEW, invite them to attend a training event, or volunteer to contribute to FEW’s important work, you expand the reach of our mission and amplify the voices of all who advocate for equity.
As you gather with family and friends this Thanksgiving, please know that each of you will be present at my table when I count my blessings. On behalf of the FEW National Board of Directors, thank you for being a FEW member as we Level Up For Success and continue working for the advancement of women in the government. Happy Thanksgiving!
