Valerie J. Stringer, Regional Manager,
DC Metro Region She joined Potomac Palisades Chapter in 2002, serving six years as Vice-President and President and working on several National Committees, including the ad hoc committee that prepared Allie Latimer’s nomination for induction into the National Women’s Hall of Fame. She became D.C. Metro Regional Manager in 2008 and was re-elected in 2010. She has 25 years’ service with the federal government. She is a Lifetime member of Federally Employed Women and has served as Chapter President of the Equalitarian Chapter for four years and Great Lakes Regional Representative for two years. Served on the National Training Program (NTP) Team for NTP 2010 where she reviewed and provided input on the training curriculum for the NTP. Wilson , Mid-Atlantic Region, Regional Manager
Gloria retired June 2010 with 30 years’ civil service and 35 years of military service. She was the Kansas National Guard FWP Manager for 20 years. She has a Master of Business Administration from Kansas State University and is a Certified Defense Financial Manager. She is active in several military organizations and was one of six to receive FEW’s 2010 Military Recognition Award.
Dawn is a Program Analyst assigned to the Office of Program Evaluation and Risk Analysis within IRS, at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire, office. She has been active in FEW since 1989, holding Chapter and Regional offices, as well as serving on several National level committees. She became a lifetime member of the Federal Triangle Chapter in the early 1990’s and a lifetime member of FEW in 2003. She served as the Regional Manager for the D.C. Metro Region prior to moving to New Hampshire for family reasons. She received the FEW National President’s Award in 2005 and again in 2010.
Email: cdhiggins@bpa.gov Cindy joined Willamette Valley Chapter in 2001 and served as Secretary, Treasurer and Membership Chair until 2006. She was elected Regional Secretary (2004-2006), followed by Regional Representative. (2006-2010). Since 2006 she has served as the Region’s Membership Chair, Newsletter Editor and has co-led three Regional Training Programs. She was hired as a Secretary by the Bonneville Power Administration. in 1989 a power marketing agency of the U.S. Department of Energy, based in Portland, Oregon. In 2007 she was selected as a Utility Specialist for the Transmission Scheduling Team. She recently joined the Transmission Support Team, providing budget guidance to various organizational teams. Sylvia Brown, Regional Manager, Southeast Region Email: Sylvia.D.Brown@usace.army.mil Sylvia Brown has over 24 years of federal service. As a collateral duty, she has served as an Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor and the Federal Women's Program Manager for over 17 years. She is a Lifetime member of FEW and Charter Member of Greater Middle Tennessee Chapter in Nashville, Tennessee, and has been very active serving as Chapter Legislative Chair, Secretary and President, and Regional Secretary, Assistant Regional Manager, member of the Strategic Planning Committee, member of National Awards Committee and member of 40th FEW Anniversary Committee. Sylvia is honored to serve a 2nd term as Southeast Regional Manager. Becky Simmons, Regional Manager, Southwest Region Email: rebecca.simmons@fda.hhs.gov Becky is a Lifetime member of Bluff Center Chapter in Arkansas and has served several offices, including Chapter President, Secretary, Regional Awards Chair, Scholarships, Regional Representative, Co-chair Regional Training Program and on the National Training Program Planning Committees in 2008-2010. She became a federal employee in 1977, currently holding the position of Program Analyst at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR). She has served as a Federal Women’s Program (FWP) Manager, President Arkansas FWP State Council, and was presented NCTR Woman of the Year Award twice and FWP State Council’s Woman of the Year. | ||
